Had a great stay in the hotel la perle recently. The staff was very helpful and great to practice my limited french. The room was pretty good. Shower gets two thumbs up. Wifi was not an issue and worked rather well. The breakfast was adequate and priced correctly. Nothing grand but just the right amount to get you going in the AM. Giving the key to the staff when you exit was a little odd but felt very classy. The only down sides my wife and I felt related to the location. We just kept getting lost initially on our return back from visiting the tourist sites. The area reminds me of Soho and the West village in new york. Just loads of little streets that feel like a labyrinth. Plus the street the hotel is on is only a few blocks long. Easy to miss. Secondly, there could be an issue for light sleepers if you're room is facing the street. There are a few bars/restaurants near the hotel in which half the patrons seem to be outside smoking. No issues with safety but the voices do carry in the tight alley and last until the bars close around 2 or 3. Didn't bother us but could be an issue for light sleepers. I cannot attest to whether this small inconvenience would be remedied with a room not facing the street.
